We are presently looking for:

1) Outside Sales Representatives
Contacts existing or potential customers to promote new sales of material handling equipment and systems. Handles all sales development for specified products within the assigned territory. This includes the handling of customer concerns and complaints.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct territorial market research to identify potential industries, accounts or individuals for sales development.
  • Initiate direct contact with key material handling equipment and systems.
  • Respond to all inquiries from users and suppliers.
  • Carefully determine user needs and wants before consulting with company and factory engineering staff to develop concepts and applications for the customer.
  • Present and document all sales proposals.
  • Be sure to carefully document each presentation and answer any concerns that are expressed by the customer.
  • Inform each potential customer about the total depth of services provided by the company.
  • Follow up on all proposals. Be certain that any changes or revisions initiated by the customer are well documented.
  • Upon acceptance, process the order and inform the customer of project status from installation to completion, start-up and final payment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate project management records and keep sales management informed of the status of each open project or recent sales proposal. Prepare equipment operational descriptions if required for specific projects.

Skills Required:
  • High school education, plus additional years of continuing education with emphasis on sales and marketing. Previous field experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management and co-workers.
  • Must be skilled in PC applications, including word processing, customer relations management (CRM), project management, spreadsheets and presentation software.
  • Able to understand equipment specifications and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Effectively communicate in oral or written presentations.
  • Ability to perform light to medium physical work, exerting up to 50 pounds.
  • Provide effective oral and written communications to customers and company management.
  • Must be PC literate and posses a thorough knowledge of general business procedures. These may be acquired via secondary education or additional college level courses or previous.

Education and Work Experience:
  • Employment experience relevant to the position.
  • General knowledge of business administration practices.
  • 1-3 years of relevant business experience.
  • Previous sales experience is desired. Must have a working knowledge of the product line.

2) Technical Trainer
Participate in, and conduct technical training programs for staff and customers. Assist service technicians with day to day technical questions and problems as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Determine training objectives.
  • Develop training programs, including outline, text, handouts, tests, and exercises.
  • Lectures class on safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance.
  • Review the quality control of all shop repairs.
  • Accept new duties and responsibilities when they are assigned.
  • Maintain positive communications with service staff and customers.
  • Develop strong product line knowledge.

Skills Required:
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of communications and organizational skills to include the ability to apply logic and constructive thinking to solve problems.
  • Extensive computer experience.
  • Superior aptitude and ability to analyze and interpret all mechanical and electrical information in service manuals.
  • Forklift experience a must, experience with Hyster and Yale product a plus.

3) Service Technician
Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment and performs repairs and schedules maintenance work based on customer needs and requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Promotes an atmosphere of good will and accountability between the company and the customer. Acts in professional manner and provides a superior level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Expertly analyzes and diagnoses customer equipment problems and breakdowns. Recommends the correct service repair actions to resolve equipment performance problems.
  • Makes appropriate equipment repairs and modifications to solve operating and performance problems dictated by the analysis of the customer's equipment.
  • Efficiently performs scheduled equipment maintenance per customer contract.
  • Accurately and neatly documents each service call, providing the necessary paperwork.
  • Observes all safety procedures, makes certain that hazardous waste is properly disposed.
  • Cooperatively performs additional duties when assigned by Service Management

Skills Required:
  • Effectively communicate with customers, co-workers and management.
  • Troubleshooting, uploading and downloading of VMS software.
  • Has a strong mechanical, electrical and technical aptitude.
  • Has the ability to understand the necessary service and training manuals, including the ability to interpret schematics and effectively use electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Keep pace with industry innovations in order to make sound recommendations to customers.
  • Can safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and overhead cranes.
  • Has the ability to perform strenuous and heavy work, can exert force up to 100 pounds on occasion and frequently handle loads to 50 pounds.
  • Must have physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and reaching, etc.
Education and Work Experience:
  • Secondary school graduate with 1 to 3 years of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experience. May include equivalent college of vocational school education.

Qualified applicants should have experience with servicing or selling forklifts and other types of material handling products.

Equipco has a staff of over 90 employees. Our corporate office is located in Bridgeville, PA, and we have a satellite operation located near Philadelphia, PA.

Over thirty of our service technicians are dispatched from their homes and they are located within the states of PA, MD, OH, and WV.

We have a sales force that handles our new and used material handling equipment; a sales force that sells our warehouse material handling products; and a sales force that sells material handling aftermarket parts and service.

A support group of approximately 30 employees compose our office staff.
